Critter At A Glance
What are their special skills? The Eurasian Eagle Owl is nocturnal and has amazing night vision. Even though they have 6ft wing spans, they are very quiet fliers. They are incredibly strong and can lift prey 2x their weight!
Do they lay eggs? Yes, mothers lay a clutch of four white eggs. Within a few weeks baby owls eat food, after 2 months they try to fly, and in less than a year they are off on their own. Mothers are in charge of raising young, while the fathers go out and hunt.
What do they need for survival? These birds of prey are found in higher terrain, such as evergreen forests or mountain ranges. They have been found on many continents around the world! These birds eat mice, small rodents, fish, and lizards. They are skilled hunters.
